A few new pieces that I have completed.
The boots were done for a family member and his new bride! They are actually his old cowboy boots, and I have wanted to paint them forever. The old leather, the creases, the worn toes, all very interesting and challenging to paint.
The brick wall was inspired by an artists home, and I called it "Beyond these Walls". I have been struggling with a few things in my life right now, and this seemed like a fitting title, and I loved the view through the archway.

Well it's almost the end of the year, it's coming up fast! I've had a good year so far, and so much fun exhibiting and selling my work. It was great fun to see old friends at some the exhibits and to meet new ones along the way.
The encaustic workshops that I have taught over this past year have been fabulous, and I have met some very creative and enthusiastic people. The Burlington Art Centre has already booked me again for next year with talks of expanding the classes!!
I have been lucky enough to have some of my showcased in two new venues, The Country Christmas Store down in Fonthill, Ontario, and also in the new ARTrageous Gallery down on James Street here in Hamilton. And in an hour, I am dropping off two paintings to the McMaster Innovation Park Gallery, and they will be on display there until March.
I guess I should get packed up and start heading downtown.
Thanks for checking in to my site,
Warm Regards, Robbin

August already.......
This year is flying by, I cannot believe that we are halfway through August already.....
I have had a great show season so far, and I have a few more exhibits still to go. I am also considering having an Open House this year, perhaps in November before the Christmas season takes over, but I will think a little bit longer and then decide by the end of the summer.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone who has come out to the exhibits that I have been part of. I am so grateful that people are taking the time out of their busy summers to enjoy some of these great events, and see some very talented artists and their work. It is always an honour for me to included among them.
I will be teaching another Encaustic workshop tomorrow night, and then next Thursday (the 22nd) again at the Burlington Art Centre, and I am really looking forward to it. These workshops are so much fun, very nerve-wracking for me, but once I get started and get to know the students a bit, it is great fun. I am very thankful to have the opportunity to teach these classes.
My painting has been a bit slower this year, and I have struggling with a few things. Life has thrown me a couple of curves, but I'm working on some pieces that I hope to have completed for the show coming up in September, fingers crossed!
Thanks for visiting my Blog, and as always, if you like to contact me, please do so at

Also, some of my encaustic work is on my blog, simply scroll down, and hit the "older posts" option and they will show up if you wish to view them. I will also be posting some photos of new work in a few weeks.

On April 10th & 11th 2013, I had the great pleasure of teaching a two-night Encaustic workshop at the Burlington Art Centre. It was so much fun and the students were just wonderful! Very creative, very enthusiastic, and very inspiring. I am always amazed at the beautiful pieces of artwork that are created during these workshops and I am always thrilled to be asked back! Can't wait until August when I get to do it again!

This painting "En Pointe" was entered into an Exhibit at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, and the theme of the show was "Rhythm & Colour".This Painting has been SOLD, Private collection.

This painting is one that I started a long time ago, and kept putting it away. Had I started it now at this point in my career, I would have done it a little differently, but I really wanted to finish it the way I started it.It is available purchase.

A Few New Paintings...
The butterfly painting, called "Five O'clock Shadow" was part of an exhibit at the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas that was themed as "Light & Shadow". This was from a photo that I took in the backyard of my uncle while we were visiting him. It is now currently on display in the McMaster Innovation Park Gallery until November 2013, and is available for purchase.
This painting was a commissioned piece that I did of the door knocker on a door at Durham Cathedral, England. Very Challenging, but a great piece to work on.
